Artwork Wednesday – Fandom Crossover Edits!

Once upon a time, I was chatting with Bella  about A Tale of Two Cities.  At some point during the conversation, we realized that lyrics from other musicals like Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera fit the characters from AToTC.  Cue massive feels and fangirling and ideas shooting back and forth–and then a Photoshopping frenzy!  🙂  I began making picture/lyric edits, and Bella has already featured some of them on her Tumblr fan blog, which is here.

Warning: Serious feels and heartbreak ahead for Phantom and A Tale of Two Cities fans.  What do you mean, I’m taking this too seriously?

See what I mean?

That crack you heard was the sound of my heart breaking…

SYDNEY

*gross hysterical sobbing*

As much as I love Sydney, Charles and Lucie are an absolutely precious couple, and they also need some love!

How about some Tale of Two Cities + Phantom?

I recently introduced another friend of mine to The Phantom of the Opera musical (the 25th Anniversary Concert, of course.  🙂 )  And she loved it–so much that she made some edits of her own!

#TeamRaoul!!!

*applauds*

Aw, yeessss!!

But it isn’t just musical crossovers I make, oh no.  Here’s Captain America + Bandstand:

I’m sorry.

And then The Alamo:

Now I’ve got to run, ’cause Chris is going to kill me.

  1. These are great! My sisters and I make these kinds of crossovers ALL THE TIME. It is so fun. Sometimes it makes you laugh, and other times… are those tears in my eyes?
“Forgive me all my trespasses and take me to your glory…” SYDNEY. That one breaks my heart! It is so perfect! I mean, all of them are. (Actually I am unfamiliar with Bandstand, but those lyrics fit with Captain America!)
I love Sydney, but I agree that Charles and Lucie belong together.
    Thanks for sharing these!

Thank you so much! Oh, wow–that’s cool you and your sisters do this too! Ugh, there are definitely tears in my eyes…Sydney breaks my heart.

Ooh, yes, Charles and Lucie belong together! I’ve heard that some folks hate Charles because they wish Sydney had ended up with Lucie instead…but without Charles’s example, Sydney’s growth wouldn’t be as powerful. I mean, it was seeing Charles’s strengths that showed Sydney what he himself could be (even though he didn’t think in those terms at first). Long story short–nice to know you like the actual canon couple! I have strong opinions about literature and musicals, in case you couldn’t tell. 🙂

You’re welcome! I’m so glad you liked them!

CHRISTIIIIIIIIIIINE! *chases you down* xP Great edits, sis. The last one isn’t quite what planet Earth needs right now, though.

  3. CHRISTINE, YOU’RE EDITS ARE SO GORGEOUS!!!! I FREAKING LOVE THEM! I’d already seen the ATOTC edits, obviously, but the one for Phantom!!!!!! “and saved you from the pain of loving me….” OOOOOOOOOOOOOUCH.

    • Christine Eyre says:

THANK YOU! I had such fun making them (well, as much fun as you can have with such heart-wrenching lyrics/musicals)! Oh, did I not send you the Phantom edit? Hmm, I can do that, if you want!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

      THANK YOOOOUU!! 🙂

Oh, I love making them! And yes, the lyrics becomes 10X sadder sometimes, particularly if they apply to Sydney. 🙁

Y’know, I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet–I do know, however, that there’s some language scattered throughout. However, the songs “Nobody” and “Welcome Home” are amazing!

I'd like to hear your thoughts! But please be polite. I will not approve comments with curses, insults, or lewd remarks.
